At the Smackdown taping last night World Champ Batista was injured. It happened during the RAW "invasion" of Smackdown. Chris Masters had Teddy Long in the full nelson while Bischoff was in Long's face. So the entire Smackdown crew loaded up in JBL's limo and chased after Bischoff and Masters.
Meanwhile it was supposed to be Batista and Edge in the ring. Of course Edge is actually injured with a torn pec. So out of nowhere here comes Big Show and Kane. They beat Batista down and give him the double chokeslam and end the show with Edge, Show, and Kane standing over Batista.
Right after the show went off the air there was a "dark match" main event scheduled between Benoit and Batista. However, after Benoit came to the ring, Batista was still on the ground.
After about a minute it became apparent that he wasn't just selling and they helped him to the back.
It was there that they realized he had apparently ripped his lats. They appeared to be "rolled up". Very painful.
He will probably need surgery to re-attach them if that is the case which will put him out for a while.
